Care of the Vulva

Vulval Self Examination

So many women are now socially educated to think that only thrush causes itching.  There are many itchy conditions that affect the vulva.  There are also some more uncommon conditions, like cancer, that may give other symptoms.  Vulval self-examination is a good thing for a woman to do and it can be performed once a month at the same time as the breasts are examined.  VHAC produces a self-examination leaflet. http://www.vhac.org and UK TV Channel 4 – Embarrassing Bodies show produced a good video showing how to perform vulva self examination
